Michael Baker International Expands Rail & Transit Services with Strategic New Hires

Michael Di Camillo and Paul Michiels Join the Company's Rail and Transit Team

Pittsburgh (October 9, 2014) - Michael Baker International recently announced the appointments of Michael Di Camillo, P.E., and Paul Michiels, P.E., to its nationally-ranked design firm. Collectively, their rail and transit expertise will further bolster the Company’s position as a leader and foster the firm’s mission to make a difference in the rail and transit industry and marketplace.

As Passenger Facilities Design and Program Management Lead, Michael Di Camillo has over 35 years of extensive senior level experience and leadership in the railroad & transit industry.  Mr. Di Camillo brings a practical approach to the design, maintenance and construction of rail and transit facilities including stations, equipment maintenance facilities and other related infrastructure.  He will be based in Michael Baker International’s Philadelphia, PA office.  Prior to joining the Company, he spent over 31 years with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). At SEPTA, Mr. Di Camillo was involved with numerous high-profile capital facilities projects in southeastern Pennsylvania including: City Hall and 15th Street Station Improvements ($120M); Walnut-Locust, Girard, Spring Garden Stations Improvements ($55M); and the Frankford Transportation Center ($190M).

As Freight Rail Lead, Paul Michiels brings over 27 years of industry experience and will oversee the engineering design services for railway bridges, structures and facilities.  Based out of the Tampa, FL office, Mr. Michiels’ primary responsibilities will include the management, business development, consultation, quality control and quality assurance for railway infrastructure projects. He has performed engineering services in a variety of roles for six of the seven Class I railroads, including short line, regional and commuter railway agencies across the United States. His roles span from in-field services on railroad right-of-way to project management of structures, yards and facility projects.
