Baker Awarded NYSDOT Region 8 Design Services Agreement

White Plains, N.Y. (October 30, 2013) - Michael Baker Engineering, Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker International, LLC (Baker), has been awarded a Regional Design Services Agreement (RDSA) by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Region 8.  Under the $5.0 million, five-year RDSA, Baker will deliver a broad range of design services for NYSDOT projects in the New York counties of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, Orange and Rockland.

Specifically, Baker will provide services to include, but not limited to, preliminary design, final design for bridge and culvert replacement/rehabilitation projects, highway reconstruction/rehabilitation projects, public involvement, environmental assessments, bridge inspection, design-build support, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design, design for other Department facilities, and construction support services.  Baker’s first assignment will involve bridge deck replacements on Interstate 84 over the Metro-North Beacon Line in Dutchess County which may require Accelerated Bridge Construction and alternative delivery methods.
