Michael Baker International's Caleb Hing Demonstrates Commitment to the Structural Engineering Profession with Key Professional Appointment

Hing Appointed as President-Elect of ASCE's Structural Engineering Institute

Pittsburgh (June 1, 2016)Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, congratulates Caleb Hing, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, structural project manager, following a recent professional appointment that demonstrates his dedication to serving and advancing the structural engineering profession. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Structural Engineering Institute (SEI)appointed Dr. Hing as president-elect. Dr. Hing’s appointment was announced at the SEI Board of Governors Meeting, May 16-17 in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Hing’s one-year term begins in October.

Dr. Hing’s new role with SEI will include leading the institute to advance the practice of structural engineering and to stimulate technological advancements in the field. Through SEI, Dr. Hing also seeks to strengthen the connection between academia and practicing engineers to drive the practical application of innovative, leading-edge research to design and build resilient structures.

Dr. Hing joined Michael Baker in 2006 and recently completed two direct interchange design and improvement projects in the North Texas area. He also serves as the executive director of the Infrastructure Advancement Institute (IAI).
