Pittsburgh (March 14, 2017) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced that Leanna Anderson has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer.
In this role, Ms. Anderson will serve as a member of the executive leadership team overseeing the firm’s communications strategy and the integration and implementation of a broad range of public relations and marketing activities directly tied to the firm’s strategic direction. She also will lead efforts to elevate the Michael Baker brand to further support the firm’s projected growth and position as an innovative leader in the industry. Ms. Anderson is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh headquarters and reports to Michael Baker CEO, Brian Lutes.

Ms. Anderson brings more than 20 years of corporate and agency experience to her new role. Previously, she served as vice president of marketing, corporate communications and sales support for ServiceLink, where she established the communications department, recruited her team, and oversaw the strategic planning and implementation of an enterprise-wide internal and external communications program.
Prior to her role at ServiceLink, Ms. Anderson was the vice president of corporate communications at LANXESS. She led all facets of corporate communications for the company’s North America region including: strategic planning; team recruitment; senior-leader counsel and revamping and enhancing communications channels and programs. For Siemens Water Technologies, she served as the director of corporate communications and developed executive communications programs, leading communication efforts during a strategic turnaround initiative that included restructuring and merger and acquisition activities.

Ms. Anderson is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXXI and serves as a guest speaker for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania School of Journalism. She previously served on the board of directors for the Neighborhood Academy, where she chaired its marketing committee, and also was a member of the National Association of Manufacturers Public Affairs Steering Committee.
She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
