Pittsburgh (September 6, 2016) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, announced today that Jennifer Lewis, P.E., has joined the firm as the director of the company’s Southeast Region. Michael Baker’s Southeast Region consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Ms. Lewis, a 22-year veteran of the engineering industry in central Florida, will be based in Orlando and will lead an expansive business development strategy in a region identified by Michael Baker as offering significant new growth opportunities. Working with close to 200 Michael Baker colleagues already located in the region, she will oversee: client satisfaction; marketing; resource allocation and acquisition; talent management and development; and the overall efficiency and profitability of the company’s activities in the region.

As director of the Southeast Region, Ms. Lewis will report to Michael Baker’s Chief Operating Officer, Brian Lutes.

Ms. Lewis most recently served as associate vice president for T.Y. Lin International in Orlando, where she was responsible for growing the company’s transportation business and leading business development efforts in the region. During her tenure, she won seven design-build transportation projects in less than four years, totaling more than $500 million in construction. She also served as project manager for four of those seven projects, in addition to managing engineering and administrative staff in Orlando and Tampa.
Additional roles include serving as the Central Florida area manager for Parsons Transportation Group, where she was responsible for key client relationships with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA), among others, and as director of engineering and business development for Eisman and Russo.
Ms. Lewis also has contributed her time to leadership roles in multiple professional organizations, including: the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE), where she is a member of the Transportation and Liaison committees; and the Women’s Transportation Seminar, as vice president. She also remains an active member of: the Florida Engineering Society (FES); American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE); and the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). She is a graduate of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI).
